Scott Coopersmith, CEO and founder of SDA Wealth Strategies & SDA Divorce Solutions, has more than two decades of business experience primarily in Financial Services. He followed his passion of helping others into wealth management with a hands-on approach, guiding them with financial and life matters.

He formed an independent firm, Impact Wealth Strategies (IWS) in 2012 to better achieve and ensure success for his clients. IWS was later rebranded SDA Wealth Strategies — the “SDA” standing for Simplify, Design and Advocate as well as for himself and his children (Scott, Daniel and Alexa). His wide range of experience includes working for large corporations, nonprofits and every in-between. Prior to forming his own firm, he worked at Smith Barney and MetLife, where he grew as a successful advisor.

Scott is a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst® from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts.  He was inspired by his own experience to help others through this difficult life event.  Scott specializes in divorce financial planning through SDA Divorce Solutions. He is a member of the National Association of Divorce Professionals and has their designation- Certified Divorce Specialist (CDS®).  He recently joined Vesta Divorce as a member of their vetted network of professionals.

He holds a Masters of Arts in Media Studies from The New School and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Ithaca College. He also holds the Series 7 and 66 securities licenses and life and health insurance licenses. Additionally, he has the CLU® designation from the American College for Financial Services. Always focusing on his own self-improvement, he’s currently working towards the Chartered Financial Consultant designation.

Scott grew up in Sullivan County, NY and around a family business which helped foster his entrepreneurial spirit.  Outside of work, Coopersmith enjoys time with his two children, fiancé Gena and their Goldendoodle Rosie.  He loves going to hear live music (especially Springsteen) and is an avid sports fan, specifically the Mets, Giants and Knicks.
