About
| Biography | I have been a litigator, trial skills instructor, and adjunct professor, all in the area of family law. I am currently a partner at The Law Offices of Diamond, Fee & Kalos, PLLC where my firm practices in all areas of Family Law and I focus primarily on divorce and custody mediation and parenting coordination. Prior to joining the firm, I had my own practice, Family Friendly Mediation and I was the Assistant Director and Training Coordinator at The Center for Mediation & Training. I have devoted my career to advocating for children and families. I have served as a trial skills instructor with the National Institute for Trial Advocacy for the past 15 years and has also served as an Adjunct Professor and Clinical Instructor at Hofstra University School of Law, all in the areas of Family Law or Juvenile Justice. I am a volunteer mediator and review attorney for the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and a consulatant at FamilyKind where I am also part of the Mentorship Program. |
| Services | I have been a family lawyer for over 25 years allowing me to see the toll that divorce, custody disputes, and overall conflict can take on families. I have experience in every aspect of the family law system, and an ability to understand and account for the needs of different parties in complex family dynamics. I became a mediator, parent coordinator, and divorce coach in order to help families in a less conflict driven and more amicable way. It is really rewarding to help parents work together in a less contentious way. Divorce is never easy, but helping a family make it a little less painful is very important to me. Research shows that it is not divorce that harms children; it is the stress and conflict. Mediation can create an atmosphere that enables families to create their own solutions and to remain focused and in control of their situations. I am skilled in helping families approach crises respectfully which I believe helps relationships regardless of the outcome.
I am approachable, a quick and creative thinker, and fully committed to helping families. You can read more about me here https://www.dfkfamilylaw.com |
