| Biography | Mary Ann Hughes is the proud mother of two boys on opposite ends of the autism spectrum, who spent over two years advocating for her sons’ needs when she was unexpectedly faced with divorce after 21 years of marriage, and because of her tireless efforts, ultimately received an excellent result for her family. Mary Ann has taken the passion she had in her own fight for her children’s future, combined with the knowledge and experience she gained in her special needs divorce journey, supported by her life, work, and educational experiences, to create Special Family Transitions LLC, a business whose mission is to help families with a child with a disability navigate the overwhelm and complexities of special needs divorce, and get the best result possible for their family. Mary Ann is a Certified Divorce Specialist, Certified Divorce Coach, Certified Special Needs Divorce Coach, Mosten Guthrie Disability Informed Professional, Mediator, Graduate of LoneStar LEND Autism & Neurodevelopmental Leadership program, MBA with over 10 years experience in Fortune 100 companies, and most importantly, an Autism Mom with over 20 years of experience in Special Needs.
