Special Needs Chapter Meeting | My Separation is Final – Now What?

Virtual Event

September 2 @ 12:00 pm 1:00 pm EST

This session explores how to create sustainable income from assets after separation, especially for individuals newly managing their finances. We’ll address aligning spending decisions with long-term goals, the impact of market volatility on retirement income, and why past strategies may no longer be effective. Attendees will learn how to create flexibility in income planning tailored to individual needs, and gain insights into the three phases of retirement—Go-Go, Slow-Go, and No-Go—emphasizing the importance of planning for medical expenses and long-term care to preserve dignity and legacy in later years.

Speaker’s Bio:

Jared Finkelstein, CFBS, CLTC. Jared started his career in the insurance business at the age of 24.   He is the founder of Inspired Wealth Strategies, a boutique insurance consultancy based in New York City.

Jared is a graduate of Emory University with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration.  He has continued his industry education by earning a Certified Family Business Specialist (CFBS) and Certified in Long Term Care (CLTC) designations from The American College.  Jared is recognized as a leader in the industry and in 2014 he was elected to the Forum 400 based on his reputation and professional accomplishments.

In 2022 Jared was recognized by Forbes as the number 14 best in state as a Financial Security Professional (reconfirmed in 2023 and 2024).   Within MassMutual he is a perennial top conference qualifier.   In 2021 Jared was awarded the recognition of ELIF (MassMutual Hall of Fame) making him one of the youngest to do so in the history of the company.

Jared prides himself on being a complex financial problem solver.   He has a unique specialty helping clients create a clear retirement income strategy which is a relatively new field in financial planning.

Jared resides in New York City on the Upper East Side of Manhattan with his wife of 11 years Carrie and their two children Charley and Spencer. He is a longtime New York Rangers, Knicks and Jets fan.  He is an avid golfer as well.  What makes Jared special is that despite his professional accomplishments he still works as hard today as he did back in 2004 (maybe even harder).   His key to success:  Keep it simple and try to get 1% better each and every day.
