Special Needs Chapter Meeting | Preventing Caregiver Burnout: Empowering Special Needs Parents to Make Self-Care a Priority

Summary: In this presentation we are going to look at the different stressors special needs parents have to deal with on a daily basis as well as the signs of chronic stress and burnout. We will end the presentation with easy to implement self-care strategies and coping mechanisms that can help parents not only survive but thrive despite the chronic stress that permeates their lives.
Bio: Claudia Taboada is a holistic wellness and burnout prevention coach, with an expertise in stress resilience. She is a 2xAmazon best selling author, an international award winning speaker, a course creator and entrepreneur. Claudia is mom to two boys, including Nico who is severely autistic and non verbal/speaking. When Nico was 2, Claudia abandoned her law career to become Nico’s full-time caregiver. In the process she suffered from caregiver burnout and PTSD.
Chapter Meeting
Chapter meetings occur monthly and are facilitated by the chapter leadership. In addition to networking and building relationships, each member has the opportunity to present an NADP Ed Talk and provide valuable divorce-specific education to their fellow chapter members.
