Speaker’s Bio:

Dr. Susan Korb Bernstein is the owner of Divorce Coach Plus and has 10 years of experience as a Certified Divorce Coach (CDC) and Certified High Conflict Divorce Coach (HCDC).

She is a full time single mom of three children and wrote a chapter in an international best seller book called Soul Parent.

She earned her bachelors, masters and doctorate in Education, Leadership and Child Development and was a school teacher, administrator and college professor before entering the divorce professional world. This background helps her clients immensely in custody battles and parenting plans including her specialty of divorce with families that have a special needs child. She runs the www.divorcewithspecialneedschildren.com website and Facebook community.

Susan teaches the graduate Mastermind course for Divorce Coaches and is an Instructor for several divorce certification programs. She speaks at numerous local and national events and guest podcasts for national and international groups. She is known as the coach that other coaches and attorneys hire to get them through their own complex divorces as well as multi-millionaires, billionaires and celebrities.

Dr. Bernstein is the Director of the NY chapter of the National Association of Divorce Professionals (NADP) and co-director of the NADP special needs divorce chapter as well as a Certified Divorce Specialist. She is a leader for/on the advisory board for Vesta Divorce, Divorce Coalition and Divorce Support Network. Susan also has additional certifications that truly help her clients including-(1) post divorce transition and recovery coach as well as (2) pre mediation divorce coach to help with her amicable divorce clients!

Susan is available day, night and weekend to get her clients unstuck and moving forward with an individual action plan. She works out every day in her home gym and has been in a monthly cooking club, book club and mahjong group for 15 plus years. She loves to travel and always has a trip planned.

Emily Apfelbaum is the owner of SNAFAY (Special Needs Advocacy For All Youth). With a wealth of experience in education and direct involvement in school settings, Emily brings a unique blend of expertise and empathy to her role as the owner and lead consultant. For years, she has been dedicated to helping families navigate the complexities of the education system, advocating tirelessly for children with special needs. Emily’s passion for empowering parents and ensuring every child receives the support they deserve shines through in her personalized approach to consultation. With her guidance, families find reassurance and clarity as they navigate the journey of securing the best education for their children.

Chapter Meeting

Chapter meetings occur monthly and are facilitated by the chapter leadership. In addition to networking and building relationships, each member has the opportunity to present an NADP Ed Talk and provide valuable divorce-specific education to their fellow chapter members.
