Special Needs Chapter Meeting/ The Divorce Coalition and How Divorce Professionals Can Help Clients Who May be Experiencing Abuse
February 6 @ 12:00 pm – 1:30 pm EST
Join us for our NADP National Special Needs Chapter meeting to connect, communicate and collaborate with fellow divorce professionals who work with special needs families.
If you are a professional who specializes in providing a service to special needs families throughout any stage of the divorce process, don’t miss this opportunity to grow your network and knowledge.
Ed Talk Description:
This presentation will be about The Divorce Coalition, different types of abuse, and what divorce professionals can do to help clients who may be experiencing abuse.
What is The Divorce Coalition:
At the heart of our mission lies a single, powerful goal: to change domestic abuse in the divorce by educating and influencing family courts, family law experts, and legislators.
With over 24% of individuals citing domestic abuse as the cause of their divorce, there must be change.
Our vision is clear — to create lasting change by uniting diverse voices, advocating for policy shifts, and supporting divorce professionals through the complex landscape of domestic abuse. We specifically use the term domestic abuse rather than domestic violence to send a strong, intentional message that there are many more forms of abuse than physical, all creating devastating effects on individuals and their children.
In this presentation, you will learn the different types of abuse, and how you can help clients who are facing abuse.
