Description:
Going through a divorce can be incredibly challenging, both emotionally and financially for your clients. I’m going to go over common financial mistakes people often make during this process that you can hopefully steer your clients away from. Topics will include overlooking hidden assets, misunderstanding complicated financial instruments like RSUs and stock options, failing to account for tax implications, and the critical importance of budgeting for post-divorce life—particularly healthcare and long-term care costs. Additionally, we’ll discuss the challenges of maintaining the family home and the risks of failing to update essential legal documents. By the end of this session, you will have a clearer understanding of the financial challenges divorcing individuals may face and gain insights into how to better support them with resources and guidance during this difficult time.
